Model 3055 is one of several standard models in NOVA’s convection cooled top-loading ATR chassis portfolio. Manufactured from aluminum alloy #6061-T651, this chassis provides aggressive system cooling from forced air blowing through front-to-rear air channels on either side of the chassis that are machined between the outer and inner chassis walls, and a housing with conduction-cooled characteristics. The result of this advanced cooling system is that the 3055 handles power loads up to 400W @ 60°C ambient (operating temperature).

Optimized for passive backplanes, the 3055 accommodates up to a 7-slot backplane. Fully compliant with IEEE 1101.1 and 1101.10, the internal subrack, made from NIS’ single-piece billet for added structural strength, accepts 6U x 160mm convection-cooled plug-in Eurocard boards. With a minor configuration change, the 3055 quickly transforms itself into a capable OpenVPX system platform, supporting 0.8-inch or 1-inch board pitch.

Power supply options include 200W through 400W output with 3.3VDC, 5VDC, 12VDC and -12VDC outputs (other output voltages available upon request). Input power options include 100-264 VAC @ 47-63 Hz; 115 VAC @ 400 Hz; and 18-32 VDC.

I/O connector options include D38999 Series-III, MIL-STD-26482 and other circular types commonly found in military electronic systems. For moderate to large unit volume, NIS will design an I/O printed circuit board to reduce cabling complexity and direct labor costs, passing those savings to you, our customer.
