NOVA’s new model 4506 instrumentation-style enclosure system provides unparalleled aesthetics and functionality at a competitive cost.
The system supports up to 14ea 6U x 160 mm Eurocard plug-in boards powered by single or dual PICMG 2.11 hot swap/redundant/N+1 power
supplies with user choice of AC or DC input power.
Model 4506 may be configured with a single or dual 6U Eurocard backplane, such as VME64x, CompactPCI, or OpenVPX. Optionally, a 6U x 80 mm rear transition module (RTM) subrack may be ordered that supports some or all backplane slots.
Installed below the front subrack is a fan tray that provides aggressive
air movement up through the front subrack and channeled through a
specially designed plenum that runs along the top of the enclosure, with
air egressed out the top/rear. NOVA’s advanced plenum design ensures
minimal internal air turbulence and vortex phenomena that typically result
in impeded airflow and inefficient operation of the fans.
Optionally, the 4506 may be configured with NOVA’s exclusive μP-based
System Environmental Monitor (SEM) that provides local and remote
communication (via onboard serial and Ethernet ports) between the SEM
and the user. The SEM monitors and controls critical system operational
parameters such as temperature, fan speed, and input and output power; additionally, the SEM contains user-definable analog and digital channels as well as HTTP and SNMP protocols (in firmware).
