New for 2011 is Series 4500 instrumentation-style enclosure
system. Initially available in 6U and 9U sizes, a key hallmark of the
series is exceptional aesthetics, configuration versatility and superior
functionality, at a competitive cost. The 6U version — Model 4506 — is
presented in its own data sheet.
6U x 160 mm Eurocard plug-in boards and 6U x 80 mm rear transition
modules (RTM) on a board pitch of 4HP or 5HP are offered, making the
4509 perfect for VPX/OpenVPX, VME64x or CompactPCI® systems.
Power system options include single/dual 6U hot
swap, redundant/N+1 PICMG 2.11-compliant
power supply modules, or a single high-powered
internal power system. Regardless of power supply
form-factor, customers may select from AC or DC
input power options.
Below the subrack resides a 2U fan tray with enough
upward airflow to accommodate the most aggressive OpenVPX board
complement dissipating up to 1.5 kW. Warm system air is egressed
through the upper 1U plenum and expelled out the rear of the case. The
fan tray supports intelligent fans monitored and controlled by NOVA’s
exclusive μP-based System Environmental Monitor (SEM). With native
HTTP and SNMP protocols, the SEM provides
onboard serial and Ethernet ports, allowing
the system to be configured and monitored / controlled from virtually any local or remote
locale. Additional SEM functionality is
