NOVA’s new 5112 COTS powered subrack chassis (“Crate”) offers users a full 21 slots of Eurocard plug-in boards supporting sizes from 3U to 9U x 160mm or 220mm depths. Model 5112 as shown in the photo is configured to support twenty-one 6U x 160mm plug-in Eurocards via a recessed front subrack. Not shown in the photo is a 21-slot IEEE 1101.10/.11 compliant 6U x 80mm rear transition module [RTM] subrack.

Eurocards backplanes supported include VME64x, VXS, VPX, OpenVPX, CompactPCI©, modified custom or full custom backplane up to 21 slots. The 5112 easily supports single, dual, triple, even quadruple independent or redundant systems, each with its own power source.

Forced-air cooling system options include fixed or front-access removable (LRU); “push” or “push-pull” configurations; tubeaxial, vaneaxial or blower types. NOVA’s advanced baffling and plenum designs reduce internal air turbulence and vortex phenomena that result in inefficient airflow and selection of more expensive fan solutions than is necessary to maintain prescribed internal operating temperature.

Power supply options includes N+1 redundant/hot swap PICMG 2.11 models. Standard input power options include VAC single or 3Φ @ 47-63 Hz or 115 VAC @ 400 Hz; VDC options include 24, 48 and 72.

NOVA’s μP System Environmental Monitor (SEM) allows the user to remotely configure, monitor and control, via onboard serial and Ethernet ports, temperature, fan speed, input/output power. HTTP and SNMP protocols are included in the SEM’s firmware.
