Model 4000T Mini-Tower COTS Development Chassis can be outfitted with any 7-slot 3U or 6U, or combined 3U/6U Eurocard backplane. The standard power supply is a 450W industrial-grade model with a 600W upgrade option.

Separate intake and exhaust fan trays, each affixed to the main chassis using captive hardware, are designed as field replaceable units (FRU) with an MTTR of <2 minutes. Each fan tray is equipped with dual high-CFM fans mounted to an adjustable bracket that allows the user to position the fans to deliver maximum cooling effectivity. And, the fans' rotational speed may be manually controlled without the use of NIS's microprocessor-based System Health Monitor.

Model 4000T accommodates all IEEE-1101.1 compliant backplanes such as VME, VME64x, CompactPCI™, VITA-31, VITA-41, VITA-46, etc. An optional System Health Monitor (SM) can be installed to remotely monitor/power down and control of chassis parameters, such as fan speed, temperature, and system voltages to ensure optimal operating conditions.
